Changes in policies
The National Land Coalition Uganda (NLC-Uganda) seeks to champion changes in laws and policies that are not people centred. Specifically, the NLC will contribute to:
- Succession Amendment Act Capt 162.
- Establishment of customary land registry.
Changes in Practice
The National Land Coalition Uganda will ensure that there is;
- Increased number of customary leaders promoting women’s land rights in Uganda.
- Greater implementation of the national land policy to ensure that customary tenure is at par with other tenure systems through the establishment of the customary registry.

NLC MISSION STATEMENT
To strengthen coordination of state and non-state actors at national and local levels to collectively advocate, formulate, review and implement people centered land policies in Uganda
NLC STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
- To build a competent coalition of non-state actors working collaboratively to address land governance challenges in Uganda.
- To influence the formulation and implementation of people centered and gender-responsive land laws and policies in Uganda.
- To strengthen capacity of land actors to effectively advocate for people centered land governance
- To collect, generate and manage land governance data to facilitate evidence-based advocacy interventions on land.
